IT Specialist (SysAdm)
USAJOBS is seeking an IT Specialist for the Office of National Continuity Programs; Continuity Communications Division. The role involves planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities
Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and software operating systems and applications
Managing systems accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment
Developing, documenting, and implementing systems administration standard operating procedures, security procedures and tools
Resolving of hardware/software interface and interoperability problems and maintenance of system configuration
Developing test data and appropriate testing procedures; provide analysis and evaluation report
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation
Selective Service registration required
Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card
You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position
Planning, delivery, and maintenance of software applications executing on the multiple hardware platforms; AND
Designing, testing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining new or modified application software; AND
Managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability
In addition to the minimum qualifications described above (specialized experience statement), you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
