Responsibilities

Diagnose triage, and troubleshoot network incidents, participating in post-mortem and root cause analysis processes

Provide instructions to datacenter or network site staff on secure repair, replacement, and maintenance of physical network hardware

Assist in designing and improving network processes, resources, and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency

Take part in the on-call rotation to handle any network issues

Contribute to testing, validation, and implementation of network devices, firmware, and configurations using automation tools

Monitor network telemetry, analyze failures, and suggest improvements to monitoring systems

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and maintain reliable, scalable network infrastructure

Share information across teams, proactively seek feedback, and support team-oriented behaviors and execution

Required

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR equivalent experience

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role

Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination

This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements

You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions

Preferred

Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR

Equivalent practical experience

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments
