IT Specialist (OS)
USAJOBS is seeking an IT Specialist for the Office of National Continuity Programs; Continuity Communications Division. The ideal candidate will possess skills in systems administration, troubleshooting, and customer support related to hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities
Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and software operating systems and applications
Managing systems accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment
Managing system resources, managing installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancement
Developing, documenting, and implementing systems administration standard operating procedures, security procedures and tools
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation
Selective Service registration required
Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card
You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating the maintenance of software applications for hardware platforms
Testing, implementing, and maintaining new or modified application software
Monitoring IT systems resources (e.g., performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability)
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
