IT Business Analyst - ITS3

Responsibilities
Perform business analysis functions using a set of tasks and techniques to successfully act as a liaison among stakeholders
Participate in requirements gathering sessions to analyze, define and document business processes, software requirements, data management systems and development of specifications for technology initiatives
Act as a liaison between IT, vendor, and business representatives, analyzing business activities and presenting the findings for analysis of solutions to purchase, implement, or develop
Work with development team members by collaborating on the development, testing, deployment and adoption of solutions
Communicate and consult with system user populations concerning system changes and implementation planning for changes and releases
Participate in and practice: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring; Elicitation; Requirements Management and Communication; Enterprise Analysis; Requirements Analysis; and Solution Assessment and Validation using industry best practices for and generally accepted standards outlined in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) (or equivalent industry standards and best practices) and by MNIT
Qualification
Required
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing IT business analysis functions
Experience performing business analysis functions to act as a liaison among stakeholders to analyze, define, document, and communicate business processes, software requirements, and specifications for technology initiatives
Experience applying Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring, Elicitation, Requirements Management and Communication, Requirements Analysis, and Solution Assessment and Validation, using BABOK or equivalent industry standards and MNIT practices
Experience gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing requirements from business, technical, and executive stakeholders, and translating those needs into functional and non-functional requirements, models, and documentation
Experience working throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including collaboration with development teams on design, testing, deployment, and implementation of solutions
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, present technical and business information to technical and non-technical audiences, manage multiple priorities, and perform work with direction, coaching, and supervisory oversight
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree or a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months
Preferred
Experience with at least one application development methodology, such as Waterfall, Rational Unified Process (RUP), or Agile (Scrum/Kanban)
Experience gathering and communicating business needs and functional requirements, including artifacts such as use cases, user stories, test cases, specifications, business process models, UML diagrams, or wireframes
Experience with application and/or interface accessibility guidelines and providing end user support
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and organize and prioritize multiple deadlines
