Responsibilities
Lead the Mission: Champion the organization’s purpose as its primary ambassador, partnering closely with the Founder and Board
Fundraising & Development: Collaborate with the Development Director and Founder to develop the fundraising strategy and oversee its execution. Foster relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and the community we serve
Strategic & Operational Leadership: Lead the development and execution of strategic goals in alignment with the organization's mission. Monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with accounting standards, funder requirements, and internal controls. Provide strong internal leadership to guide staff, foster collaboration, and promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and inclusion. Oversee day-to-day operations and financial management while advancing long-term goals
Program Management & Oversight: Ensure high-quality, evidence-based youth programs that meet the physical and emotional needs of our community
Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with schools, faith communities, local businesses, and other nonprofits to strengthen support networks
Board Collaboration: Support effective governance and clear communication between staff and the Board
Qualification
Required
2-5 years of progressive nonprofit experience; youth social services preferred
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, donor relations, and event management
A genuine passion for empowering youth and building community partnerships
Skill in managing budgets, reporting, and organizational systems, including process improvement
Experience managing and supporting volunteers
Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed
Local candidate able to work onsite in Herndon, VA
