Responsibilities
Designs plumbing and fire protection portions of a project using engineering formulas and skills for ensuring safety and technical accuracy
Reviews design project for code compliance
Identifies and selects equipment from appropriate manufacturing catalogs for specific applications
Ability to perform on-site investigations and surveys prior to design and during construction
Coordinates the contract documents between engineering disciplines for architects
Provides technical support to contractors throughout construction
Performs his or her own drafting/design using AutoCAD and/or Revit and reviews own work for accuracy
Performs hydraulic calculations using computer software
Coordinates utility requirements with local utility companies including obtaining hydrant flow test data for project sites
Qualification
Required
Ability to draft using AutoCAD and Revit software
Strong oral and written skills
Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively
Preferred
B.S. degree preferred in mechanical engineering with 2 to 5 years of job-related experience
