The role involves managing geotechnical engineering projects, conducting field exploration programs, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute geotechnical engineering projects across Colorado and surrounding regions

Conduct and supervise field exploration programs, including soil borings, test pits, CPTs, and geophysical surveys

Perform advanced geotechnical analysis including slope stability, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, and earth retention systems

Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and technical deliverables

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycle

Mentor and guide junior staff; review and provide feedback on technical work

Ensure compliance with project scopes, schedules, and budgets

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)

PE license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 6 months

Minimum 6 years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting setting

Proficiency with geotechnical software: gINT, LPile, Slope/W, Slide, Settle3D, etc

Familiarity with CAD and/or MicroStation for collaboration with design teams

Strong understanding of subsurface investigations, laboratory testing programs, and geotechnical design principles

Experience with foundation systems, retaining structures, ground improvement, and forensic investigations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering

Experience in proposal writing and business development

Project management experience with DOT or large-scale commercial clients, residential, municipal, retail etc

Active participation in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, DFI, Geo-Institute)
