Responsibilities
Partner closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Board to strengthen financial operations
Modernize financial systems and improve automation
Increase transparency and consistency across financial operations
Stabilize and strengthen financial systems, processes, and teams
Modernize and integrate financial workflows
Improve automation across accounts payable and billing
Strengthen revenue cycle management and accounts receivable
Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting
Assess current systems and practices to understand organizational operations
Lead improvements that reduce risk, improve efficiency, and support long-term sustainability
Act as a trusted strategic partner and be hands-on in early stages of the role
Work closely with department leaders to help them understand budgets and financial accountability
Strengthen the budget development process and improve departmental ownership of financial plans
Provide clear, accurate, and actionable financial information to the Board of Directors
Communicate financial realities with transparency and help the Board understand risks and opportunities
Oversee financial technology and related infrastructure, including evaluating system integrations
Qualification
Required
Experience in a leadership role within a community-based behavioral health organization or similar environment
Strong understanding of public funding mechanisms, including Medicaid, state and federal contracts, and grants
Proven track record in modernizing financial systems and improving automation
Experience in revenue cycle management and accounts receivable
Ability to provide accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting
Strong communication skills to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Experience in budget development and financial planning
Ability to collaborate with department leaders and support their understanding of financial accountability
Experience in overseeing financial technology and related infrastructure
Strong change management skills and adaptability
Preferred
Experience working with a Board of Directors and providing actionable financial information
Background in behavioral health or non-profit financial management
Experience in integrating financial workflows and improving efficiency
