Responsibilities
Perform advanced technical work involving the installation, repair, and maintenance of complex HVAC systems and their associated controls
Troubleshooting for temperature consistency, improving indoor air quality, or implementing solutions that save energy and reduce costs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by vocational or technical training in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
Five (5) years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance and repair
Must maintain a valid driver's license
Must maintain within six (6) months of position assignment: Maintain HVAC Universal Certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Depending on position assignment… if assigned to work within the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office/Justice Center/Jail additional background checks will be required: Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS)
FALCON Integrated Criminal History System
Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related software
Strong technical knowledge of the air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing trades, including HVACR systems
Experience in electronic troubleshooting
Skill to use HVACR control software and standard office equipment
Effective written and verbal communication
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Ability to work independently
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Ability to safely perform duties around high voltage, high-pressure gases, high temperatures, and high noise levels
Ability to provide quality customer assistance
Ability to prepare reports and technical documentation
Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, service providers, and the public
