Accounting Manager
Delta Performance Products is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. This role plays a critical part in managing invoicing, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and month-end close activities within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll coordination
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
Ensure adherence to GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls
Oversee and ensure accurate and timely invoicing of customer orders, including manufactured and distributed products
Review sales orders, shipping documentation, pricing, freight, taxes, and customer terms prior to invoicing
Resolve invoicing discrepancies in coordination with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations
Monitor billing accuracy related to partial shipments, backorders, and customer-specific pricing
Ensure invoicing processes are properly executed within the Datacor/Chempax ERP system
Manage cost accounting processes including standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis
Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accurate raw material, WIP, and finished goods balances
Partner with Operations and Production to ensure accurate ERP data related to production, usage, and yields
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to leadership
Serve as a key finance user of the Datacor/Chempax ERP system, supporting accounting, invoicing, inventory, and cost functions
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data flow from order entry through invoicing and financial reporting
Assist with ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and internal user training
Provide guidance, performance feedback, and workload prioritization
Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Leadership to support business objectives
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and order-to-cash processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience managing invoicing, accounts receivable, and month-end close
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective communication and leadership abilities
Preferred
CPA or CMA certification (preferred)
Experience in manufacturing, chemical, pigment, or distribution environments (strongly preferred)
Hands-on experience with Datacor/Chempax ERP (highly preferred)
