Responsibilities

Electronic box architect for flight control computers and/or motor control electronics used in commercial aviation applications
Technical integration leader, POC for customer, program and vendors
Contribute to proposals for new aircraft platforms in accordance with customer requirements – responsible for technical concept generation and requirement compliance
Mature system architecture/requirements alongside systems engineering team and other engineering disciplines
Facilitate Model Based Design methods, tools, and processes consisting of electrical design analyses – hand calculations (first order) and dynamic simulations (matlab, Simulink, pSpice, etc.)
Develop/maintain requirements for flight control electronics assemblies
Facilitate design of flight control electronics assemblies to cost, reliability and schedule targets
Facilitate design for manufacturing
Lead team of engineers (mechanical, SW, digital, analog, power, etc.) in development/design of the electronics boxes
Design of electronics box hardware, firmware, algorithms, power devices, feedback circuits consisting of high-power inverters, gate drives to control motors, microprocessors, and FPGAs
Design boxes to meet EMI/EMC requirements of application
Create requirements for electronics box test equipment
Validation and Verification Test Oversight
Create development/qualification flight control electronics assemblies test procedures
Mentor and coach other engineers within the electronics department

Required

At least a BS in Electrical Engineering
12+ years of applicable experience
7+ years of development team leadership experience
Leadership with strong organizational skills and a desire for continuous improvement
Depth of understanding and experience in the design, analysis and development aircraft actuation controllers
Preferably experience with requirement flow down, actuators sensor interfaces, commercial and military standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA/DO-254 standards), Qualification, and Certification
This job may require access to US export-controlled information and the ability to obtain security clearance will be required
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are either a U.S Citizen or a U.S lawful permanent resident

Preferred

Experience with VHDL coding
Expertise with HyperLynx to analyze signal integrity
Experience developing design in accordance with DO-254
Experience with Allegro Schematic Capture and Allegro PCB Editor
