Electrical Engineer - Designer / Engineering Manager
SASCO is one of the largest privately held electrical and data contractors in the nation, and they are seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee engineering design and drawing generation. The role involves managing designers, ensuring high-quality engineering standards, and mentoring team members while working on large, complex projects.

Responsibilities
Responsible for independent electrical design of large, complex projects such as commercial and high-tech buildings, data centers, hospitals and labs, retail centers, tenant improvements, high rise residential, office buildings, special use facilities, and the like
Responsible for the engineering oversight of the electrical design performed by others in the Engineering Groups
Design skills shall include power distribution (circuiting, panel schedules, feeder schedules, load calculations, fault current calculations), lighting (circuiting, low voltage lighting control, CA energy calcs), HVAC. Mechanical coordination (MOCP, breaker size, load calculations), and coordination with the serving utilities
Mentor and train other members of the group
Maintain close involvement with all design projects to ensure the highest quality within SASCO standards while achieving the lowest material/labor cost
Manage designers and Revit / CAD operators to produce quality accurate drawings
Engineer value-added design solutions to client provided conceptual plans, specifications and drawings
Analyze projects for material/labor savings
Interface effectively with Estimating, Purchasing, Group Executives and Project Managers
Ensure engineered products meet all respective local codes
Consistently produce an engineered product of high standards while adaptable to process changes

Strong working knowledge of the NEC, CBC, IBC/UBC, and all applicable NFPA codes
5 years' experience in progressive independent electrical design
Working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD
California Professional Engineer (PE) license required, in order to stamp documents / certify work
Successful history of Engineering and overseeing large, complex commercial projects from upfront schematic level through construction administration
Ability to manage and oversee multiple large projects on an ongoing basis is essential
Strong management, written, and verbal communication skills
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Fullerton Corporate Headquarters. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available
5 years of Electrical Engineering Design or Electrical Project Manager experience
Proven capability and experience with large construction projects (>$3M) and providing value-added engineering designs
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong Management, written and verbal communication skills
Highly proficient with technical engineering programs, design and drawing generation
Must be fluent with the National Electric Code
Working knowledge with AutoCAD and SKM Power tools
Ability to manage and oversee multiple large projects concurrently
