The State of Missouri is responsible for regulating investor-owned utilities to ensure safe and reliable services. The Lead Senior Utility Regulatory Auditor will perform reviews and analysis of policies affecting utility rates, coordinate technical aspects of rate cases, and provide expert testimony on compliance issues.

Responsibilities

Perform reviews and analysis of policies and programs affecting rates used to charge water, sewer, gas, and steam customers in the state of Missouri
Ensure customers receive safe and adequate service
Coordinate technical aspects of rate cases before the Commission
Negotiate with utility representatives and interveners
Review legislative proposals and participate in rule making
Provide input and testify on issues as an expert witness
Make recommendations to utilities to ensure rule and regulation compliance
Position may require occasional in and out of state travel

Required

A Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field
Four or more years of professional auditing experience, including three or more years in a regulatory environment that provides a broad view of regulation, utility operations, cost evaluation, or management analysis
Knowledge of drinking water or wastewater environmental regulations and/or natural gas regulations
Strong interpersonal, communication, active listening, and writing skills
Personal computer experience required, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access software applications
Ability to work within a team setting or independently
Must have initiative and strong work ethic
