Responsibilities
Assisting in the direction and overall operations of the Sterile Processing Department (CSSD)
Ensuring all medical equipment/instruments, O.R., hospital wide are cleaned, sterilized, and assembled following regulatory and hospital standards
Maintaining high levels of service and quality
Staff supervision and development
Quality of sterile processing work performed
Maintaining effective inter-departmental relations within the department
Developing and maintaining an environment that supports quality care in the processing of instrumentation and equipment for the hospital
Aligning operations and performance improvement training, and capital equipment purchase and maintenance
Maintaining compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, County, State, and Federal agencies laws, regulations and standards
Qualification
Required
Associates degree or two (2) years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
Completion of Central Processing Technician Course
Minimum three (3) years of experience in Central Processing
Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a supervisory or lead capacity in healthcare
Preferred
Sterile Processing Technician and/or Sterile Processing Manager certification strongly preferred from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
