The Activity Director will plan, direct, and coordinate resident activity programs, assess individual resident needs, and develop appropriate activity programs based on their backgrounds and enjoyments.

Responsibilities

To assess the residents of the facility on an individual basis and formulate plans of care accordingly

To develop an activity program which is appropriate to the residents in the facility, based on their varied backgrounds, problems, needs, and enjoyments

To develop work assignments for all activities personnel

To advise Administrator as to the number and qualifications of activities personnel required to meet the residents’ needs and the type and number of supplies and equipment required to fulfill the objectives of the activities program

Required

High School Graduate or its equivalent

Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license

Has completed a State approved Activity Program Training Course; or is a Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist; or is a Qualified Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant

Ability to read and write in English

Ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel and support agencies

Ability to remain calm under stress

Must be capable of extended periods of standing and bending
