Responsibilities
Start with prioritized service tickets—some handled remotely, others requiring travel to client facilities
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues on packaging equipment and restore performance
Complete routine maintenance, replace worn components, and verify safety and compliance
Document every visit: service logs, repair notes, and parts usage to ensure traceability and continuous improvement
Coach operators on proper use and preventative care to reduce repeat issues
Coordinate with fellow technicians on complex escalations and lend a hand training junior team members
Deliver on-site and remote technical support with clear, customer-friendly communication
Troubleshoot and repair industrial packaging systems using hand tools, diagnostic software, and electrical testing methods
Perform preventive maintenance aligned to manufacturer specs and safety protocols
Escalate patterns of failure and recommend process or design improvements
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or a technical certificate/degree in a related discipline
3+ years in equipment repair, maintenance, or a closely related technical role; at least 3 years in manufacturing is required
Comfort with electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, and diagnostic software
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills; able to work independently
Lift 35+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work safely in a variety of environments
Comfort operating in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors when needed
Travel 70–80% based on customer requests
Deliver on-site and remote technical support with clear, customer-friendly communication
Troubleshoot and repair industrial packaging systems using hand tools, diagnostic software, and electrical testing methods
Perform preventive maintenance aligned to manufacturer specs and safety protocols
Escalate patterns of failure and recommend process or design improvements
Preferred
Certification in electrical systems
Familiarity with PLCs, relays, and mechanical systems
Prior field service experience on related equipment
Reliable commute to Hopewell, VA 23860 is required
Relocation to the Hopewell area prior to start is preferred
