Procurement Specialist, North American Disaster Relief

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their North American Disaster Relief team. In this role, you will support procurement activities, manage purchase requisitions, and maintain vendor relationships to ensure the efficient supply of materials and services for disaster relief efforts.

Responsibilities

Assist the Procurement manager with the Procurement of materials, equipment, tools, parts, and services for NADR
Assist the support and research of equipment purchases and supply orders and execute all required transactional paperwork in a time sensitive manner
Assist with the maintenance of the detailed records of bids, quotes, and analyses associated with procurement activities
Develop and maintain inventory listing of all tools, supplies, and equipment on NADR trucks, DRVs, and trailers for use in ordering and restocking
Oversee the preparation and issuance of requisition requests
Review requisitions and contracts for conformance to ministry policy
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
Maintain current information on companies that provide all types of tools, equipment, and supplies that support the department
Analyze current inventory with Warehouse Coordinator against requests from field and local assets, and place orders to replenish stocks in Annex, Ministry Centers, or sites
Work with vendors for potential GIK donations and record GIK donations given to NADR
Analyze and prepare reports associated with procurement and inventory
Create active working files, e-files, and summaries for each project

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough knowledge of the field of procurement and inventory software, and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Access
Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key stakeholders, vendors, customers, and colleagues
Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions based on all available information. Particularly important in the selection of vendors
Time management skills to ensure efficiency in service delivery
Ability to obtain and keep current a DOT medical card
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ministry inventory management People Soft software and other organizational computer applications
Ability to learn/cross train in other roles to assist as volume dictates

Preferred

Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred, not required
