Research Analyst

Responsibilities

Develop, organize and maintain design requests and preliminary design recommendations
Research design and construction records for use in design projects in the construction programs
Work with subject matter experts to coordinate responses to customer inquiries
Assist in the evaluation of products used for INDOT’s Approved Materials list
May assist in the development of the Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the INDOT Traffic Engineering Investigations Manual and other traffic control policies
Issue and maintain Commission Numbers and maintain and update database for the traffic control devices
Perform Maintenance Quality Assurance reviews and advise the Maintenance Quality Supervisor of concerns and/or issues
Collect and transmit Maintenance Quality Survey (MQS) information to the Manager

Required

High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE)
A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a research analyst, graphic designer, engineering assistant, specification writer, or in another technical field. An Associate's degree may be substituted for work experience
In-depth experience with Highway Maintenance activities and surveys
Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation
Position may require experience with Electronic Records Management System (ERMS), MIP, MQS mapping, Work Management System (WMS), AutoCAD and Micro Station
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
Ability to research, abstract, compile, and summarize information to complete special assignments
Ability to work with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
