Start in 2026 SummerNEOGOV, representing the City of Tacoma, is offering engineering internships in the Tacoma Public Utilities Power department. Interns will gain hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines, working alongside experienced professionals on projects related to hydroelectric power systems and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities
Work side-by-side with experienced professionals on engineering projects
Modify PLC Ladder logic and Operator interface screens
Troubleshoot alarms and perform Virtual Machine Backups
Create drawings for electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Update and maintain asset lists and procedures
Support hydro project and fisheries operations and maintenance
Create design drawings, equipment specifications, and procurement of components
Provide engineering, design, cost estimation, and project management for customer projects
Model and study Tacoma Power’s electrical system and design projects for reliability and safety
Support all aspects of constructing, maintaining, and operating overhead and underground lines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in progress
