Responsibilities

Take principal responsibility for litigation matters and supervise and direct a litigation team
Handle legal matters including defending Commission orders before state circuit and appellate courts
Other litigation and trial practice at all levels of state or federal courts
Management of all stages of case litigation and negotiation before federal agencies, such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
Legal analysis and advising regarding policy initiatives and energy development
Position may require a moderate amount of in-state and out-of-state travel

Required

The candidate must have a Juris doctorate degree and admission to practice law in Missouri and be a member in good standing of the Missouri Bar
Must have a combined 5 years of litigation experience in either the civil, administrative or energy law and/or government regulation of private enterprise law areas
Ability to manage or coordinate all stages of complex case litigation and trial practice before all levels of the courts as well as state or federal agencies
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external contacts; strong oral and written communication skills; and proven ability to effectively develop trust, respect and cooperation across all areas of an organization and staff levels
Knowledge of civil practice and procedure is required

Preferred

Responsible management and/or supervisory experience preferred
Experience in public utility regulation or field of law directly related to public utility regulation is preferred, but not required
