Responsibilities

Oversee Management of the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Aging
Advocate for LGBTQ older adults in Massachusetts
Implement Commission’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan
Identify, plan and develop short term and long -term goals and objectives for annual workplan; monitors and reports on goal achievement
Develop, administer and oversee written policies and procedures for the Commission
Plan, organize and direct the preparation of reports to legislature, Commission and public
Convene Commission meetings – set agenda, minutes, etc
Convene Commission working groups
Collaborate with Commission co-chairs and their legislative staff
Collaborate with Commission members
Recruit new Commission members
Collaborate with other related/relevant Commissions, LGBTQ community groups and aging services
Update Commission’s website and social media platforms
Provide written and verbal testimony to legislature on issues of relevance to Commission’s priorities
Promote public recognition of Commission through media, public appearances, participation in conferences
Meet Agency Participatory Expectation
Adhere to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
Adhere to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality
Adhere to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation
Attend all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
Maintain professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
Serve on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
Performs other duties as related

Required

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's Degree
Excellent writing skills
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Excellent time management skills
Experience working with an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse work staff preferred
Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals require
Must be able and willing to travel throughout the state of Massachusetts

Preferred

Familiarity with LGBTQIA+ issues
Familiarity with Massachusetts' LGBTQIA+ communities
Familiarity with older adults' issues and needs
Familiarity with the Massachusetts aging service network
