Airframe Assembler

Aerometals, Inc. is a veteran of commercial and military aerospace manufacturing founded in 1984, and they are seeking an Airframe Assembler. The ideal candidate will align and assemble parts, utilize blueprints, and perform layout and installation of components while ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

Responsibilities

Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners
Rivet structural assemblies and parts using riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, etc
Utilize blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine sequence of operations, type size for rivets, and hole patterns
Apply sealants, adhesives, and solvents per customer specifications by using proper safety devices
Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items
Use fractions, decimal, and mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems
Cut, trim, and file parts while verifying fitting tolerances to prepare for installation
Fasten, support, and/or hang components and subassemblies
Remove fasteners without damaging structures
Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using measuring tools
Identify product defects and communicate errors to appropriate personnel
Collaborate with engineers to complete research and development work
Make tooling as needed
Bag and tag finished products
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to complete close tolerance work
Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity
Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and work instructions
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
3+ years in structural assembly - 5+ years for journeyman level
