NEOGOV is seeking a Public Health Environmental Officer III to work with the Mississippi State Department of Health. This role focuses on ensuring food safety through inspections, outreach, and training in the Food Protection Division.

Responsibilities

Conduct a minimum of 4 retail food inspections per day averaged over the course of each month
Engage in food safety public outreach
Provide training and education to retail food facility management and staff
Participate in disaster response activities
Conduct food protection sanitation consults

Qualification

Required

Candidate needs to have the ability to analyze a situation and build a possible solution to a process, procedure, or problem
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Experience in the food service industry with knowledge of food safety regulations, required

Preferred

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience
Experience in food permits, invoicing, and Food Protection's overall process are preferred
