Community Manager (General Manager)

Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee is a company dedicated to crafting beautiful coffee and cultivating flourishing communities. The Community Manager is responsible for the daily operations, financial health, team leadership, and guest experience of the café, while actively building community partnerships.

Responsibilities

Monitor inventory and maintain accurate records; ensure timely ordering while preventing over- or under-stocking
Drive revenue growth and net profitability through disciplined cost control and thoughtful decision-making
Evaluate menu items using performance data and guest feedback; recommend changes as needed
Maintain strong supplier relationships and pursue new local partnerships (e.g., bakeries, vendors)
Hire, onboard, train, and develop baristas to LTH standards
Create staffing schedules that ensure proper coverage while maintaining labor efficiency
Hold team members accountable to beverage quality, cleanliness, and hospitality standards
Conduct monthly staff meetings and participate in weekly manager meetings
Foster a culture of ownership, professionalism, and care for both guests and teammates
Lead by example on the café floor, setting a warm, welcoming, and intentional tone
Ensure the café environment is consistently clean, organized, and inviting
Identify and implement strategies to attract new guests and retain regulars
Schedule and support community events, live music, and gatherings that align with the LTH brand
Collaborate with Development Partners, when applicable
Communicate clearly with leadership regarding performance, challenges, and opportunities
Proactively identify operational drift and implement systems to prevent burnout and inconsistency

Required

Leadership experience in coffee, hospitality, or food service
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage people, priorities, and finances simultaneously
High ownership mindset — takes initiative and follows through
Comfort working both behind the bar and at a strategic level

Preferred

Experience managing a café or hospitality business
Interest in coffee as a craft and hospitality as a calling
Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow responsibility over time
Experience working with vendors, events, or community partnerships
