EVS Floor Tech

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking an EVS Floor Technician to join their Environmental Services team at Central State Hospital. The role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors through various cleaning tasks and techniques.

Responsibilities

Maintaining all floor types by dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and performing deep scrubs as required, including stairwells, elevators, tiled restrooms, shower areas, and building entrances
Moving furniture and equipment to clean underneath and behind, using carpet cleaning equipment, detailing floor corners, edges, expansion joints, and elevator tracks, as well as exterior cleaning with pressure washers or leaf blowers to maintain first impressions
Weekly high and low dusting, wall washing in stairwells and hallways, recovery cleaning projects to restore areas to baseline cleanliness standards and assisting with general housekeeping tasks as needed to support staffing and building needs

Required

Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of supplies, tools, and chemicals
Knowledge of safety practices related to housekeeping work
Ability to follow written and oral instruction to perform required tasks
Ability to comprehend, read, and write to complete employee checklists for an assigned area
Ability to complete required computer-based video trainings
Ability to complete TO (therapeutic options) training
Ability to safely lift, bend, twist, stoop, stretch, push, pull, climb, and stand for extended periods to functionally move and perform repetitive, manual labor tasks, which can occur in confined spaces, such as closets, elevators, and stairwells
Knowledge of floor care and maintenance and the ability to use floor care tools, machines, and chemicals
Knowledge and ability to strip, wax, and/ or scrub and polish floors
The ability to work independently and part of a team
Skilled in customer service
Knowledge of workplace professionalism
Experience in Performing Cleaning Tasks
Experience in Floor Tech Work

Preferred

Preferred experience in Hospital Housekeeping
