Responsibilities
Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, including LAN, WAN, and internet systems
Monitor and perform routine network maintenance to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime
Analyze test data and network performance metrics to recommend hardware or software upgrades
Identify areas requiring network improvements or equipment upgrades based on performance analysis
Conduct user needs assessments and network surveys to inform network configuration and enhancement
Develop and document standard operating procedures for network installation, usage, and issue resolution
Assist users in diagnosing and resolving data communication issues in a timely and effective manner
Provide user training on the use and functionality of network and communication hardware/software
Collaborate with IT staff and stakeholders to ensure network systems align with organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and monitoring tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and user training
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Demonstrated professional experience supporting network systems analysis and administration
Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting tools, and best practices in network security and operations
Ability to successfully pass an employment background check
Preferred
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent
Experience supporting government or military network systems
Familiarity with network design, security standards, and incident response protocols
