Preschool Development Grant Content Specialist - CLEE - UTK

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a Preschool Development Grant Content Specialist to manage the development of high-quality content for early learning standards and trainings. The role involves collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Education and focuses on creating instructional materials and facilitating professional development to improve preschool programs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with TDOE and expert early learning stakeholders to revise the TN Early Learning Development Standards (TN-ELDS)
Collaborate with TDOE and The Pyramid Model Consortium to customize the Pyramid Model for TN school districts
Develop regional training to educate school districts across the state on the new TN-ELDS and Pyramid Model
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure materials are aligned with state policy and priorities, district needs, and best practices in early childhood education. All materials must meet the standards of CLEE and our sponsor TDOE
Research to stay abreast with current practices, policies, laws, and trends in early childhood education
Design and develop instructor-led, web-based, and eLearning courses, as well as related course materials
Test, verify, and validate technological procedures and processes for content delivery, ensuring seamless implementation
Provide ongoing support and technical assistance for delivered training, including advising on pedagogical and instructional design theories and offering practical guidance on teaching and learning innovations
Offer consultation services and training to staff, helping them utilize new tools, resources, and instructional methods
Use innovative approaches to solve problems
Assist in distributing training reports for submission to CLEE, TDOE sponsor, and PDG programs
Apply creative approaches to solve challenges and improve professional development delivery and content engagement
Form collaborative relationships with TDOE staff, all necessary staff participating in PDG Initiatives, and UTK staff in support of building high-quality preschool programs
Provide in-person and virtual training to districts for planning and implementing initiatives through professional development, data-based decision-making, and action planning
Delegate administrative tasks to administrative assistant to ensure communication of professional development events and other applicable tasks are completed on time

Required

Bachelor's degree (Early Childhood or related field)
At least 3 years experience in early childhood education
Previous professional experience in a role requiring coordination and/or consultation with individuals or agencies
At least 1 year experience in high-quality early childhood content development
Ability to be self-reflective and actively engage in district-level process improvement
Skilled in implementing processes and professional development at a district level
Knowledge in using innovative approaches to address challenges in training delivery or content design for adult learners
The ability to speak and model lessons and teaching techniques in front of educators, large groups, district leaders, and project partners to effectively improve outcomes for students
Knowledge about developmentally appropriate practice, assessment, instruction, and inclusion for all children, ages 3-5
Strong written and verbal skills
Ability to schedule and manage time effectively
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
Skilled in training and/or coaching educators and facilitating professional development
Ability to design and deliver impactful training to educators and administrators to improve their skills and methodologies
Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple trainings within deadlines
Ability to engage and build relationships with project partners (educators, administrators, support personnel, and other TDOE personnel) to effectively improve outcomes for students

Preferred

Master's degree (Early Childhood or related field)
At least 5 years of experience in early childhood education
At least 3 years experience in high-quality early childhood content development
Ability to navigate virtual / online platforms such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, EdPuzzle, and Zoom
