The role involves managing payroll accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and vendor payments, while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations.

Responsibilities
Regularly attends work in conformance with the schedule designated by the supervisor
Prepares purchase order classification
Performs general ledger data entry
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports
Records entries on expenses to accounts and cost centers
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
Receives, verifies, and pays purchase orders and requisitions
Prepares checks for payment and disbursements
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
Maintains historical records by recording and filing documents
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Secures financial information by completing data base backups
Answers accounting questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
Performs any other duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor
