Division Director, Community Finance (Program Administration & Regulatory Oversight)

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is a state agency dedicated to partnering with communities to help create a climate of success for Georgia's families and businesses. The Division Director is responsible for the strategic administration and programmatic oversight of community development initiatives, focusing on Executive Management and Policy Implementation.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Directs the operational activities for Division
Responsible for ensuring program activities conducted within federal guidelines and established budgets
Setting long and short-term strategic goals for Division and managing progress towards those goals
Identification and development of successors and individuals who have potential for further responsibility
Strong commitment to Agency success and sustainability
Performs other duties as needed by the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner

Required

Bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business administration, political science or a related field from an accredited college or university
Seven years of relevant professional level experience, three years of which in a management/leadership role
One year of experience required at the Office Director level

Preferred

At least five years experience in community and economic development programs
Experience managing and overseeing federal and state grant programs
Understanding of local government operations and issues
Understanding of partner entity roles (including, but not limited to Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Economic Developers Association, various authorities across the state, conventional lenders, etc.) and the ability to build and develop strong rapport with such partners
Successful track record managing diverse teams
Strongly goal-oriented and highly self-motivated
Ability to perform in a dynamic environment that stresses flexibility and adaptability to change
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proven problem-solving and team building skills
