Responsibilities
Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems
Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes
Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry best practices
Integrate new data management and software engineering technologies
Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production
Create custom software components and analytics applications
Research new uses for existing data assets
Connect systems using multiple programming languages and tools
Collaborate with data architects, IT teams, and data scientists
Implement and update disaster recovery procedures
Continuously improve data reliability and data quality
Qualification
Required
Experience programming and/or architecting a back-end language (Java, J2EE, etc)
Experience with non-relational & relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.)
Strong understanding of data engineering practices, algorithms, and backend system design
