MGM Resorts International is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Scenic Project Artist to help design and create visually compelling sets and environments for various productions and events. The role involves producing props, sets, vignettes, signs, and room decor, collaborating with various MGM events teams to create elaborate sets and custom decorations.

Responsibilities

Use design direction and specifications to fabricate décor treatments for room, ceiling, entry, stage and walls

Use appropriate techniques and tools to paint, cut, sew, glue and assemble props to produce well developed, safe, quality decor

Properly pack needed items for transport, unpack and check goods against orders and handle inventory to protect against damage

Ensure that tools are maintained and areas used are left in a clean and orderly condition

Stay current in design trends, production techniques and vendor products and share/train with teams to inspire creativity

Lead crews in-studio or on installation and tear downs on selected events

Participate in event installation/tear down and loading/unloading of vehicles as needed

Create a positive work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition

Required

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

1+ years of prior relevant experience in set and prop construction, theatre, fabric, and/or events design required

Prior experience producing large sets/props, sculptures, or museum displays

Preferred

Experience with artistic wood working, carpentry, CNC machining, or electrical design is highly preferred
