Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day HR operations, ensuring timely, consistent, and compliant processing of HR transactions and employee inquiries
Oversee HR ticketing system functionality, reporting, and resolution tracking; establish and monitor service level expectations
Partner with HR Generalists to ensure quality assurance on employee data entry, file maintenance, and employee support
Manage and supervise the Leave & Accommodations Specialist; ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, NJFLA, and related regulations
Serve as a resource for complex leave and accommodation cases, partnering with legal counsel or external consultants when needed
Supervise the Benefits Administrator and serve as an escalation point for benefits related inquiries and problem resolution
Partner with Finance, vendors, and internal stakeholders on open enrollment, benefits audits, and compliance reporting
Lead or oversee sensitive employee relations matters and internal investigations, in partnership with the HR Generalist
Support policy interpretation, documentation, and HR compliance reviews; ensure consistency and fairness in HR practices
Collaborate with HRIS stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity
Monitor operational metrics and generate reports to support compliance, decision making, and continuous improvement
Direct, support, and develop a small team of HR operations professionals
Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving across the HR function

Required

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or related work experience required
7+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in HR operations leadership
Deep knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws and leave regulations
Experience managing HR systems and overseeing benefits and leave administration in a complex, multi-site environment
Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and execute large-scale, multi-phase HR projects from planning through completion in a complex, multi-site organization

Preferred

HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
Nonprofit or mission-driven sector experience a plus
