Responsibilities

Assists clients with coverage changes in an automated environment supported by an imaging system; determines whether delayed or advanced billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly. Uses each client contact as an opportunity to review the entire account, round it out, and market as needed
Informs and educates clients about policy coverages, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs
Provides technical support to producer(s) to benefit clients and support the agency’s strategic business goals
Prepares proposals in coordination with producer(s)
Submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers
Obtains client signatures on applications as necessary; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies
Manages clients’ needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related items, verifying their accuracy
Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account reviews
Remarkets renewals, contacts clients, creates renewal proposals, and handles other renewal activities in coordination with producer(s)
Renews policies following agency standards; verifies each renewal’s accuracy and ensures all renewals are produced
Reviews policy audits, verifies accuracy, and facilitates corrections between the client and carrier as needed
Maintains and updates electronic and client activity files
Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary
Processes incoming mail requests, responding promptly and appropriately
Verifies the accuracy of all direct-billed cancellations and takes appropriate corrective action when needed
Uses the agency credit and collection policy when invoicing and pursuing prompt payments
Processes and follows up on cancellation requests to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution; maintains agency financial equity whenever possible
Leaves accurate documentation of all contacts
Refers current and prospective clients to the Life/Benefits Department and to Personal Lines for solicitation of those lines of business
Assists in designing, or independently designs, insurance plans for clients as assigned and directed by agency management or producer(s)
Assists with or completes other tasks as directed by agency management or producer(s)
Attends client meetings at their locations as necessary
Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities
Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts
Stays informed regarding industry trends, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance
Interacts effectively with others by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve agency business goals
Performs technical tasks to expedite client services

Required

5+ years' experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager supporting complex, large construction clientele within Florida
Applied Epic proficiency
Active P&C 2-20 license
Full knowledge of insurance products, markets, and usage
Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverage, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and underwrite assigned client and prospect lists
High school diploma or equivalent
