Senior Technician

Responsibilities

Use conventional biochemical, molecular, cellular, immunohistochemical, and behavioral assays to perform experimental work either independently or in collaboration with postdoctoral research scientists and graduate students
Maintenance of mouse colonies, behavioral monitoring of mice, genotyping, drug and gene delivery via IP/ICV injections
Dissection of mouse tissue, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy
Mammalian tissue culture, transfection and lentivirus/AAV production
Responsible for managing lab inventory and ordering, preparing solutions, and performing other duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory

Required

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated attention to detail, and ability to work independently
Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and ability to keep accurate records

Preferred

Knowledge of laboratory procedures for mouse colony handling and genotyping
Prior experience with neonatal mouse tissue dissection and immunohistochemical analysis of brain, spinal cord and muscle with cryostat and vibratome sectioning combined with confocal microscopy is highly preferred
Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or neuroscience
