Senior Level, Lead/StaffOpen Insurance is a stealth startup backed by a repeat founder and top-tier investors, focused on rebuilding the financial plumbing of the insurance market. The Founding Engineer will be responsible for building the entire technical foundation and scaling the engineering team, while working closely with the founders.

Build the core platform from scratch (0→1)
Architect the systems, pipelines, and AI/ML layers that power everything
Work directly with the founders every day on product + GTM decisions
Lead and upskill the early engineering team as we scale
Ship at an elite pace — fast, precise, and obsessed with quality
Help define and enforce the technical bar for all future hires
Qualification
Required
A full-stack generalist who loves owning problems end-to-end
Deep interest in AI/ML, LLMs, embeddings, or data intelligence systems
Thrive in ambiguous, high-velocity environments
Relentless learner, obsessive builder, zero ego
Comfortable being the one who figures out 'how to do it'
Want massive responsibility early in your career
Want to help build something that defines your legacy
Preferred
An engineer who has operated as a founding engineer or early #2/#3 at a high-growth startup
