Responsibilities

Own and grow the Utility business segment, driving bookings, revenue, and margin growth
Lead a team of field-based sales professionals (“road warriors”) focused on hunting, expanding, and defending utility accounts
Set territory strategy, account plans, and sales targets aligned with company growth objectives
Act as a senior commercial presence with IOUs, cooperatives, municipalities, EPCs, and utility partners
Identify and pursue new utility opportunities across transmission, distribution, renewable interconnection, and grid modernization
Lead major pursuits, RFPs, and strategic bids—engaging early with utilities and engineers to influence specifications
Maintain a strong personal pipeline while coaching the team to do the same
Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing utility sales team
Establish clear expectations, cadence, and accountability for pipeline management and forecasting
Develop future sales leaders through mentorship and field-based coaching
Partner with Engineering, Pricing, Operations, and Production to align customer commitments with capacity and execution
Ensure accurate quoting, realistic lead times, and disciplined deal reviews
Serve as the voice of the utility customer internally
Own pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and deal execution discipline
Provide regular updates to executive leadership on market trends, risks, and opportunities
Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer engagement models

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA a plus)
8+ years of sales experience in utility, electrical equipment, power infrastructure, or industrial manufacturing
Prior experience leading field-based sales teams strongly preferred
Proven success selling complex, engineered products into utility environments
Hunter mindset with strong commercial instincts
Confident executive communicator—comfortable with utility leadership and internal executives
Strong leadership presence; leads by example in the field
Deep understanding of long-cycle, project-based sales
Highly organized with strong CRM, forecasting, and deal management discipline
Willingness to travel extensively
