Responsibilities

Installing new generator units, transfer switches, and related electrical equipment safely and correctly

Performing routine preventative maintenance, such as oil and filter changes, lubrication, and loadbank testing

Diagnosing and repairing issues with generator engines, electrical systems, and electronic controls. This includes replacing parts and calibrating systems

Regularly testing generators to ensure they are ready for use and operate at peak efficiency and output

Maintaining a stock of spare parts, completing work orders, and keeping detailed logs of activities

Adhering to all company safety rules and maintaining a clean, safe work environment

Required

3+ years' experience in the industrial sector to install, service and troubleshoot commercial, diesel and gas operated generators and automatic transfer switches

Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines, electrical systems (including AC), generator components, and electronic controls

Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems

Manual dexterity for handling small components and physical strength for handling heavy equipment

Good communication skills for interacting with customers and management

A High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to work under pressure

Willingness to travel

Ability to work irregular hours, including overtime, weekends, or holidays

Valid driver's license required (CDL a plus)
