Responsibilities
Complete assigned Service Requests related to repairs and upkeep of properties. This includes areas of heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, HVAC, and other general repairs. Recommending replacement or repair, as necessary. Ensure that all work completed is professional and clean after leaving our residents homes
Prepare open apartments for rental within 24 to 72 hours. This may include coordinating the work of other staff or vendors
Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills to excel in their role as a Maintenance Technician
Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents by addressing and responding to requests, questions, and concerns, making referrals to manager or maintenance team members as appropriate
Complete and document daily building inspections with the focus on proactive maintenance
Ensure the attractive internal and external appearance of all buildings and grounds, which may include removing debris and weeds, and reporting maintenance needs
Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills to excel in their role as a Maintenance Technician
Qualification
Required
A High School degree, GED or equivalent
Business needs and/or state, local and federal laws may dictate required certifications and licensure for a region or specific location
Valid driver's license, vehicle, vehicle insurance and clean driving record for past 3 years
Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
Demonstrated proficiency and quality of advanced maintenance skills
Has previous maintenance experience, is a handyman, and knows maintenance repairs
Keeps a high attention to detail
Takes pride in seeing a job through completion
Works with others to train and pass on knowledge
Enjoys interacting with residents while performing maintenance duties
Preferred
Equivalent education with one to two years' related experience and/or training preferred
