Contech Engineered Solutions is a company that fosters a positive and collaborative work environment. They are seeking a Structural Steel Designer to provide design and drafting services utilizing Tekla model-based construction software, supporting engineering, production, and sales staff for bridge projects.

Responsibilities

Utilize custom programs to independently create detailed drawings and, when necessary, bills of material for the manufacture and installation of our products

Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions for designs

Utilize applications such as Tekla, AutoCAD, and Excel to complete drawings within project deadlines

Submit and review drawings with peers as needed

Collaborate with the design staff to determine design requirements, modifications, and resolve issues

Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval by the design staff

Prioritize assigned projects based on due dates

Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families

Serve as an interface between commercial operations, fabrication plant managers, customer service representatives, and structural engineers when necessary

Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities or product installation sites

Required

Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering, or AutoCAD

Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans, with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the civil engineering field

Strong technical skills, including proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla or related programs

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Excellent mathematical skills and demonstrated attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events

Strong ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, site plans, and engineering concepts

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Civil Engineering, architectural, or construction experience preferred

Experience in the steel industry preferred
