Responsibilities
Works with parts team to make the department more profitable
Finds out the model, serial number, and type of part needed
Reads catalogs, John Deere Vision or computer for replacement part stock number and price
Orders and receives parts from John Deere and other venders
Fills customer orders from stock
Ensures technicians receive the correct parts in a timely manner
Receives and ships parts as needed in accordance with DOT guidelines
Tracks lost sales
Studies and stays current on new product bulletins and catalogs
Prepares computerized invoices
Receives payment or obtains credit authorization
Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available
Picks up and delivers parts for customers and venders as needed
Maintains periodical parts returns as needed
Attends training classes and store meetings
Examines returned parts to determine if defective and exchange part or refund money
Marks and stores parts in stockroom according to prearranged system
Always see that defective merchandise is tagged properly with date, hours used, serial number, model number, correct part number, and placed in warranty bins
Returns all unsold merchandise immediately to the correct stock location
Notifies Parts Manager of discrepancies between inventory records and shelf quantities
Maintains a clean and safe operating department
Assists with annual physical inventory
Controls expenses to increase profitability
Other duties as directed
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work extended hours and weekends
Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
Preferred
1+ years of experience in Parts Department operations preferred
