Senior VDC Modeler
Cerris Systems is a family of construction companies with a strong emphasis on employee ownership and a commitment to their workforce. They are seeking a Senior VDC Modeler to produce detailed technical documents, manage VDC schedules and budgets, and mentor junior team members while ensuring adherence to company standards.
Construction
Responsibilities
Produce graphical representation of specified design information using Revit into detailed working technical documents
Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
Basic 3D modeling & drafting using Autodesk Revit, Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk AutoCAD
A VDC Modeler will be expected to model with manufacturer specific content
Size plumbing pipe and HVAC pipe; this position will be expected to learn the basic material and connection options for common mechanical pipe and plumbing pipe
Building/Manipulating Revit Families
Produce graphical representation of specified design information on drawings
Work with other team members to complete design, drawings and models as required
Work with both field and shop teams to facilitate project communication
Maintain training and continued education
Management of both VDC Schedule and VDC project budget
Tracking any VDC issues throughout the coordination process
Advanced 3D modeling & drafting using Autodesk Revit and Fabrication CADMEP
Oversee Revit Project Setup to ensure company standards are withheld
Sizing plumbing pipe and HVAC pipe
Maintain Document Control for all VDC Deliverables
Building/Manipulating Revit Families
Produce graphical representation of specified design information on drawings
Work with other team members to complete design, drawings and models as required
Mentor individuals with less experience so that they can advance their careers

Qualification
Required
Ability to lead a team of multiple VDC Modelers and VDC Technicians
Ability to work closely with Design Consultants in a Design-Assist Environment
Ability to assist Preconstruction/Estimating in both design and mock-up scenarios
Ability to ensure that your VDC Project team is modeling with the most accurate content based on project submittals and PVF Matrix
Ability to work directly with Cerris Systems Project Management and Fabrication Shop teams to ensure communication between VDC and Field teams
Revit experience Required
Autodesk BIM 360 Design Basics
Knowledge of Autodesk Point Layout
Microsoft Office Basics
Basic use of Bluebeam Revu: PDF document comparison, mark-up, and collaboration tool
Basic familiarity with governing codes and standards as it relates to a project's scope of work
Familiarity of installation practices
Interface and model navigation skills in Autodesk Navisworks Manage; used for spatial coordination between trades
Understanding of P&ID's and Flow Diagrams
Understand of system layouts
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
5+ years of related work experience required
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
Normal office environment
Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing, and Typing on Computer Screen
Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder
Preferred
Five years of field training or apprenticeship school preferred
Other technical experience such as military, public service, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management
