Accountant I/II

Responsibilities
Resolve and clear Trade Accounts Receivable (A/R) for the NE. Including contact customers for aged items and provide instructions for Cash Application
Weekly reporting to document collections efforts. Discuss Trade A/R status with management
Review NE customer invoices on spot audits, ensuring completeness and contract compliance. Resolve discrepancies timely
Review / analyze billing system/reports for contracts, amendments and escalations set up accuracy
Work with NE Operations and Commercial to ensure accurate invoicing & discuss any collection issues
Assist with monthly closing processing including utility expense reviews, inventory reviews and fixed asset reviews for NE/MW
Assist with NE Opex accruals, obtaining vendor statements for reviewing to ensure accuracy and the need for accruals
Maintain SOX compliance and consolidate related documentation
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Perform additional Ad Hoc duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
3-5 years' experience in an accounting-related position with strong knowledge of general accounting procedures
Must have strong computer skills, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is mandatory
Must have strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work and to manage multiple demands and deadlines
Must be self-motivated and detailed oriented with the ability to perform and meet deadlines
Requires business writing & acumen in report writing and understand root causes in A/R issues
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules
