Responsibilities
Assist in a wide range of functions relating to accounting, billing, income tax return and certain regulatory compliance activities pertaining to health insurance
Work with FBHP staff in the administration of the FBHP plans for in-depth experience in the health insurance industry by assisting departments with administrative tasks while learning the Insurance Industry
Gain experience with network and systems administration and IT security, providing day-to-day support and troubleshooting issues and other various activities
Get hands-on experience with .NET and SQL Server development
Get hands-on experience working with data structures, data analysis and data management
Expose the student to all legal aspects of the health insurance industry from the perspective of a generalist
Conduct annual research and review of State and Federal law and regulations affecting health insurance
Prepare Memoranda based upon health insurance related research
Review, revision and drafting of legal documents including health insurance contracts
Review Medicare supplement policies including Medicare Minimum standards
Engage in Corporate Governance and occasionally commercial property transactions
Support marketing operations with competitive and data analysis, industry research, social media content creation, events support, and creative development of marketing assets
Be exposed to all aspects of health insurance sales with a focus on data analysis
Daily review of all call metrics and data
Prepare detailed spreadsheets and dashboards for management
Assist with incentive compilation and general data analysis of day-to-day trends
Assist with workflow management projections and system functionality
Qualification
Required
Must be a rising college Junior or Senior
Finance Intern should be a Finance or Accounting Major
Health Plan Operations Intern should be a Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or Business Health Major
Information Technology Intern should be enrolled in Network Administration, Cyber Security, Software Development, Data Analytics, or related major
Legal Intern must be enrolled in law school
Marketing Intern should be a Marketing or Communications Major
Sales Intern should be a Business or Marketing Major
