Responsibilities
Build and maintain backend services in Rust, focusing on scalability and performance
Integrate new features into existing infrastructure
Debug, profile, and tune performance in high-scale production environments
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and frontend teams to integrate features and unblock development
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team technical discussions
Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and security best practices for the systems you own
Learn and grow your Rust expertise through hands-on experience and mentorship
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience - building or maintaining production systems
Strong understanding of distributed systems and database fundamentals
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work autonomously, move fast and deliver high- quality code in a fast- paced startup environment
Preferred
Experience at a reputable Web2 company (e. g. , Cloudflare, Coinbase, Robinhood, Meta, Airbnb) in systems level / performance optimization roles
Hard science degree (e. g. , Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics etc. ), bonus if from top ~50 university
Experience at a high- frequency trading firm (e. g. , Jane Street, Citadel, DRW)
Experience working remotely
Active on GitHub showing a passion for coding outside of work / personal projects they're interested in
