American Foods Group is preparing to launch America's Heartland Packing, a significant new facility. The QA Lead will oversee product safety, quality, and compliance on the harvest and fabrication floor, ensuring adherence to standards and effective management of the Quality Assurance department.

Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities for the Quality Assurance department and works closely with local and regional USDA/FSIS authorities, customer’s representatives (if needed), and auditors

Update, maintain, and implement pertinent regulatory documents and records, product specifications, and quality assurance records

Enforce and monitor animal welfare and quality programs for products manufactured

Monitor the acceptance criteria for our product and control the disposition of nonconformance

Assist with assuring all products produced in the plant meet or exceed customer requirements for quality

Provide leadership for the Quality Assurance department while developing and maintaining effective employee relations

Responsible for crewing, scheduling, and training of Quality Assurance employees

Participate in plant management and operational meetings

Required

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship

Must be able to effectively communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking)

Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

High school diploma or GED
