The Patient Service Representative will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing check-ins, scheduling appointments, and maintaining electronic health records.

Responsibilities
Effectively manage the patient check-in and check-out process
Perform identification verification, update patient insurance information, and ensure appropriate forms are completed accurately
Collect specified co-pays and payments from patients
Screen for eligibility and financial assistance
Follow policies and procedures in collecting and handling cash
Enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record accurately and promptly
Confirm, request, and process referrals and authorizations for specialty services
Contact patients to schedule appointments and make reminder/recall notifications
Respond to customer billing and payment inquiries on an as needed basis
Escalate billing issues as needed
Regularly display a proactive approach to customer service
Perform a wide range of general clerical tasks and other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
1 – 3 years of experience in administrative, clerical support or customer service required
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare environment
Bilingual (Spanish, Arabic, Chaldean, Somalian, Creole and other languages as well.)
