Commissioning Engineer
Bureau Veritas Group is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, and they are seeking a Commissioning Engineer. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for commissioning and retro-commissioning projects, developing commissioning plans, and ensuring compliance with performance requirements.
Responsibilities
Act as the commissioning authority
Review the design to become familiar with the design criteria and expected performance
Provide design review comments as they affect the commissioning process
Develop a commissioning plan
Conduct commissioning meetings
Review submittals during construction as they affect the commissioning process
Verify installation and functional performance of the following:
HVAC systems
Building automation systems
Lighting control systems
Plumbing domestic hot water systems
Other system as required
Develop pre-functional test procedures
Oversee the functional testing and complete the functional testing forms
Complete and submit a commissioning report
Oversee Contractor-provided operator training and review training materials
Complete warranty phase commissioning follow-up
Must be able to travel up to 30% to client sites nationwide
Qualification
Required
Minimum five years professional experience within construction realm
5+ years of experience specifically in commissioning, including experience with commissioning of comparable projects in size and complexity
Accredited Commissioning Certification such as CxA (Certified Commissioning Authority), CCP (Certified Commissioning Professional) or BCxP (Building Commissioning Professional)
Valid driver's license is required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record)
Must have expertise in working with commissioning software like Facility Grid and CxAlloy
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently
You can traverse, observe equipment, and record data and photos on safely accessible roofs and other high or open areas, which may require ladder and/or hatch access
You are comfortable and willing to work in densely equipped mechanical and electrical spaces requiring dedicated focus on safety protocol
Ability to travel up to 30% to client sites
Preferred
Accredited Professional Degree in Engineering
Professional Engineer licensure (any state)
