They are seeking a Patient Financial Counselor who will interact directly with patients and their families to resolve patient accounts and assist with financial assistance programs.

Responsibilities
Easing the way in resolution of patient accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, obtaining sponsorship, and financial assistance
Identifying eligibility, providing education, and completing and submitting applications for various State and Federal sponsorship programs
Assisting patients and making eligibility determinations for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance
Qualification
Required
H.S. Diploma or GED
Two (2) or more years experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
Minimum of three years experience required, or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or it's Affiliates
Two (2) years experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system required, preferably in Epic
Preferred
Knowledge in reimbursement of health care accounts from insurance companies preferred
Previous experience with medical and health plan terminology
