The Backend Engineer will lead the implementation of Python-based services and architect scalable processing pipelines to enhance manufacturing documentation and automation processes.

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end implementation of Python based services to ingest, store, tokenize/index, and search manufacturing documentation
Architect scalable processing pipelines for documents, video, and mixed-media content by evaluating and integrating various tools (OCR, MMLMs, VLMs, YOLO etc.)
Build infrastructure to support functionality including cycle time tracking and workflows
Collaborate with ML, frontend, and robotics teams to deliver integrated solutions
Qualification
Required
Solid experience with Python backend development and ML, RAG, NLP architectures
Proven track record leading service creation at scale
Experience building search and indexing systems for unstructured data
Availability to work EST hours
Preferred
Experience with high-frequency data streaming technologies (Kafka, ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ, ROS)
Background in combining siloed data systems and breaking down information barriers
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure as code
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, MES/ERP systems, or IIOT
Experience with video processing and multi-modal search systems
