InternSahiyo is looking for an individual who wants to work with an internationally recognized organization and learn how organizations develop from the ground up. This is a remote unpaid internship where the individual will support various fundraising and development activities.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Support Development Director as needed
Conduct funding source research
Draft and edit grant proposals
Solicit relationships with potential funders
Assist with implementation of strategic development plan
Create and implement fundraising campaigns
Solicit and secure auction items
Enter gifts into donor database
Assist with event promotion
Perform other related duties as required to support and strengthen the mission and purpose of Sahiyo
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to represent Sahiyo in a professional manner
Hardworking, driven, results-oriented and independent but able to keep in contact with team
Eager to learn about the issue, with a focus on engaging with the community in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner
Demonstrated attention to detail and good organizational skills
Ability to engage others in conversation and solicit needed information
Able to prioritize, organize, manage time well, and deliver to agreed upon deadlines
Proficient in Google Suite
Preferred
Experience with fundraising, grant writing, and/or non-profit work a plus
